Latest TSSAA playoff projections

Here is the first set of projections from the TSSAA in their public school divisions. Click on the link and you can scroll through the different classifications, playoff standings, tiebreakers, etc..

http://tssaa.org/divisiononefootballplayoffs/

All they are showing is the top 32 teams in 3A-6A and top 24 in 1A-2A that would make the playoffs. What they have not taken into consideration just yet is if there are any teams not in the top 24 or 32 that are first or second in their district. Those team automatically qualify for the playoffs regardless of the number of overall wins that they have. Overall wins is the first tiebreaker in the TSSAA standings.

Here are our current projections for the playoffs if the season ended today. We will continue to update these on a week to week basis. Obviously, there will be a lot of change over the coming weeks. Once the teams are placed in their respective quads, they are seeded like this: All first place teams in the quad, all second place teams and then any wild card teams. If there are 3 first place teams in the quad, they are seeded according to their place in the TSSAA tiebreaker standings. Same for any second place or wild card teams.

We will not project the entire statewide bracket, Just the quads involving the area teams.

  2. Jim, as far as AA is concerned all 12 teams across the state make the playoffs. If they follow the same bracket as last year, both the #1 & #2 teams in the West as well as the E/M will receive byes. I will post this once it becomes official.

In the A division, there are 4 districts-E/M 1, E/M 2, West 1 & West 2. The top three teams in each of these districts make the playoffs with the #1 seeds receiving byes. I will post this as well next week
