Collierville 29 Ridgeway 28
First place in District 15-AAA was on the line and when the dust had settled, it was the Dragons that emerged victorious. JR Jonquall Carrothers intercepted a pass and returned it 80 yds for a TD with just over 2 minutes remaining in the game to give Collierville the win. Ridgeway was driving down the field ahead 28-23 and was looking for a score to put the game out of reach when Carrothers made the play. DeSoto Central 27 Olive Branch 21
The Jaguars got their first win ever over the Conquistadors by forcing 4 turnovers (2 INT, 2 FUM) and getting a fantastic game from their two standout sophomores, QB Cameron Bowman & RB Alan Lamar. Bowman was 17-32 for 223 yds and 3 TD's while Lamar carried 24 times for 93 yds & caught 4 passes for 28 yds. Their two senior WR's were pretty good, too on both sides of the ball. Grant Kimberlin had 6 catches for 95 yds and a TD while registering 10 total tackles and Steven Bradley had 4 catches for 88 yds and a TD and finished with 9 tackles. SR LB Mike McDonald had 11 tackles to lead the DeSoto Central defense. Olive Branch played the game without two of the big weapons. Both JR QB Ross Trail and SR LB Alfred Dickens were injured the week before in the South Panola game and weren't able to suit up. JR RB Dontavis Bruce had 97 yds rushing on just 8 carries and a TD and caught 4 passes for 34 yds. For the second game in a row, JR Kyky Austin came up with a big play for a score. Last week Austin returned an interception 63 yds for a score and picked up the loose ball following a blocked field goal and returned it 78 yds for a TD. He returned a kickoff 66 yds for a score in this one to cut the lead to 3 at 17-14 but the Conquistadors could not get any closer. JR Fred Walls had 10 tackles to lead the defense while seniors Devontae Davis and Marcus Leflore each had 9.

Central 33 St. Benedict 15
Can I get a witness? Is
there anybody hotter over the last 2 weeks than Warriors JR QB Deddrick
Thomas? One week after scoring 4 touchdowns to give him 12 on the year, Thomas went one better vs the Eagles. He had 5 touchdowns (3 passing, 2 rushing) to lead the Warriors to the comeback win after trailing 9-7 at the half. Thomas rushed for 120 yds on just 14 carries and now has 14 rushing touchdowns on the year. He was also a very efficient 10-14 passing for 106 yds and now has 7 passing touchdowns on the year. He had plenty of help from his teammates who racked up over 530 yds of total offense. JR RB Bernard Gray had 131 yds rushing on just 14 carries while SR RB Jarret Clayton finished with 10 carries for 92 yds and JR RB Artavious Russell had 80 yds on 14 carries. JR QB Mark Kovacs had a fantastic night for St. Benedict. Kovacs was 21-35 for 310 yds and 2 TD's. JR WR Tyler Currie caught 9 of those for 121 yds and a TD while JR WR Joey Magnifico caught 4 passes for 111 yds and a 77 yd touchdown.
Melrose 38 Kingsbury 14
If you're LeEarl Patterson of Melrose, you have to love walking up to the line and looking at JR WR Johnathan Johnson on one side and then turning your head and seeing SR Cornelius Sturghill on the other. It definitely makes for exciting football in Orange Mound. The Patterson to Sturghill connection was clicking for the second straight week Last week the two connected for 5 times for 117 yds and 3 TD's. This week it was the big play. Patterson hit Sturghill with a 83 yd TD pass to get the game started and then finishing the scoring with a 72 yd TD pass. Patterson now has 23 TD passes which leads the Shelby Metro area and Sturghill has caught 11 of those which is tops for receivers. Patterson ended up 20-34 for 306 yds and Johnson saw plenty of balls come his way. One week after catching 5 passes for 83 yds and a TD, Johnson caught 6 more for 89 yds. Pick your poison folks. You can't stop both of them. JR Kevon Hall had 2 scores as well including a 77 yd kickoff return for a TD. JR QB Eric Cole had both touchdowns for the Falcons.
Liberty 26 Millington 14
The Trojans stepped outside of district play for the final time in the regular season by taking the trip up I-40 to Jackson and the end result was not a good one. Liberty jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead on its opening possession before Millington answered back with a touchdown from SR ATH Lakeron Garcia to tie the game. SO QB Eldon Tyms gave the Trojans the lead in the second but it was the last points of the game that the District 14-AAA squad would score.

Southwind 28 Germantown 23
The Jaguars began their 3 games in 7 days show with a thrilling come from behind victory over the Red Devils. SO QB Darian Cole hit SR WR Chris Gatewood with a 65 yd TD pass with under 2 minutes remaining in the game to give Southwind the victory. It was the second TD pass of the night for the young Cole who finished 10-18 passing for 121 yds. The Jaguars trailed 14-6 at the half before taking the lead on a 80 yd punt return for SR standout Jimmy Keys. It was the last of three touchdowns that Keys would score in the game. He had rushed for one earlier & caught a TD pass as well. It was the 4th return touchdown of the year for Keys. SR RB Anthony Quinn led the way for the Red Devils, rushing for 120 yds on just 15 carries and scoring a TD. SR QB Wesley Dacus only completed 4 passes on the evening but two of them went for touchdowns, one to SR TE Patrick Bianchi & one to SR RB Joseph Rodgers.

Tipton Rosemark allowed just 65 of yds of total offense in the game and their offense rushed for 215 yds to lead the way. SR QB Austin Chambers had 95 yds rushing and a TD and only completed two passes on the night but one of them was a touchdown to JR WR Logan Stewart who had both catches for 66 yds.
West Point 69 Center Hill 41
99% of the time when you have 390 yds of total offense and score 41 points, you usually win the game. This was that 1% when you didn't. The Mustangs were spectacular on offense but could not slow down West Point. SO QB Dan Ellington accounted for all 6 Center Hill touchdowns but it wasn't enought. He was 16-30 for 232 yds and 4 TD's while rushing for 2 scores. JR RB Kaelin Thomas led the way on the ground with 87 yds on just 9 carries and he caught 4 passes for 40 yds and a score. SR Taurice Fields had a great night on special teams with 190 yds in kickoff returns including a 59 yd return that set up a score.
White Station 33 Arlington 14
You couldn't have drawn up a better start to the game for White Station. They were dominant on defense in the first half, holding Arlington's high octane offense to one first down and 38 yds in all. Matter of fact, the Tigers didn't even cross midfield until the third quarter. Meanwhile, the Spartans offense were getting it done behind SR QB Cedric Wilson, Jr. Wilson finished 11-19 for 187 yds with 3 TD passes as White Station had over 300 yds of total offense. Arlington SR QB Hunter Sheffield did have 198 yds passing and 2 TD's but it was too little, too late for the Tigers.

Craigmont 42 Frayser 0
The Chiefs rebounded nicely from their loss to Trezevant last week as they were outstanding on both sides of the ball. Defensively, the Bears held the Rams to 2 first downs for the game and 29 total yards and had a 53 yd interception return for a TD by SR DB Demarco Ewing. The Andrew McIntyre to Kristian Wilkerson connection continues to produce big results. The two juniors connected on 2 touchdowns on the night and three times overall. Wilkerson has now caught 15 passes on the year and 7 of them have gone for touchdowns. Can you say he's the go to guy for the Chiefs? SR RB Michael Braden had only 5 carries in the game but rushed for 102 yds. FR WR Darrell Threlkeld came up big as well with a 14 yd run for a TD and he threw a 40 yd TD pass to Chiefs basketball standout Lawrence Mosley.
Lausanne 30 Rossville Christian 6
Maybe it was the bye week or maybe it was the Rossville Christian defense. Nevertheless, Lausanne only led 9-0 at the half before putting the game away via the big play in the second half. SR Michael Goodrich scooped up a fumble and returned it 87 yds for a touchdown and then caught a 50 yd TD pass from JR QB Spencer Mackey for the final score of the evening for the Lynx. Mackey had an outstanding game. He was 2-2 passing for 72 yds and the touchdown to Goodrich and he rushed for 136 yds on only 12 carries with TD's of 53 & 28. Wolves SR QB Tinsley Heston had 200 yds of total offense himself. He had 17 carries for 117 yds and was 5-9 passing for 83 yds and a TD.
FACS 48 Macon Road Baptist 13
The Crusaders rebounded nicely from their first loss of the season last week to the hands of ECS by racking up almost 500 yds of total offense in the win. JR QB Bobby Downing led the balanced attack with 8-12 passing for 174 yds and three touchdown passes, two of those going to JR TE Drew Rutland. Downing also rushed for a TD. The area's second leading rusher, SR Kortney Morris had 107 yds rushing on just 11 carries while teammate James Alexander only touched the ball 4 times but boy were they productive. Alexander's 4 carries produced 110 yds and 2 TD's. 2 big plays got Macon Road on the board in the 4th quarter. Stephen Harris had a 82 yd run for a TD and Josh Palley had a 77 yd run for a TD.
Mitchell 65 MAHS 7
The Tigers are gearing up at the right time as they start to head down the homestretch and hopefully a playoff berth awaits them. The Tigers defense held the Lions to just 52 yds of total offense and the only touchdown allowed was a 95 yd kickoff return by SO Coby Trotter. For the second straight week, JR QB Tamadreus Trezevant & SR WR Dejuan McQuarters led the way. Last week Trezevant threw 3 TD passes (all to McQuarters) and rushed for a 4th. What did he do for an encore? How about 4 TD passes and another rushing TD. That's 9 total touchdowns over a two week stretch and 14 passing touchdowns. McQuarters had 4 touchdowns last week (the 4th was on a punt return) and had 7 catches for 107 yds. This week he had 5 catches for 119 yds and 2 TD's. JR RB Randy Browley led the ground game with 120 yds on only 7 carries and a TD.
