Whitehaven 23 East 0

The Tigers completed a second consecutive 10-0 regular season & it took all of 1 play to make it happen. Mark Dodson went 80 yds for a TD on the first play of scrimmage to give the Haven all the points they would need. Dotson scored another TD and finished with 265 yds rushing on 25 carries. The Tigers D did the job as well, limiting the Mustangs to 96 yds of total offense while pitching the shutout.
Westwood 34 Munford 28

The 2A Longhorns traveled up to Munford to take on the 4A Cougars & came away with the win. Westwood had 538 yds of total offense and had to withstand a Munford rally in the 4th quarter to get the victory. QB Jerome Gilkey was spectacular. 13-18 for 252 yds and 3 TD's. Southwind 24 Overton 14

The Jags trailed 14-0 at the half behind two Gerald Bailey touchdowns for the Wolverines. Whatever coach Cedric Miller said to his team in the locked room must have worked because Southwind came out with a 22 point barrage in the 3rd to put the game away. Gary Echols 2nd TD of the game put Southwind ahead to stay.

Germantown 42 Wooddale 6

Justin Roberson & Sam Martin led the way as the Red Devils clinched 2nd place in 15-AAA with the win. Roberson 4 TD's on the night, 2 of those on passes from Martin as Germantown led 35-0 at the half. Martin finished 7-11 for 95 yds to go with the 2 TD's.

One of the most exciting players in the Shelby Metro area put on an electrifying performance for the Spartans. Donald Gray had 7 TD's on the night-5 receiving, 1 rushing and 1 on a punt return & finished with 345 all purpose yards.

Fayette Academy 24 JCS 14

This was the second straight year that these 2 teams have played in a win or go home game. Last year Fayette Academy lost & this year the Vikings turned the tables. Saltillo 45 Hernando 28

Hernando led 21-7 at the half before suffering through a nightmare 3rd quarter. The Tigers turned it over 3 times in that quarter that led to 21 straight Saltillo points. The closest Hernando got the rest of the game was 7 points with 10 minutes left.

JR SS Josh Lyons intercepted a pass and returned it 65 yds for a TD to make it 14-0, 1 of 3 interceptions on the night for the Ridgeway defense. SO RB Earl Harrison then took over. The "heir apparent" to take over at the running back position in 2013 had 196 yds rushing on only 16 carries and scored 3 TD's.

SBEC 27 FACS 7

Win or go home. A playoff spot on the line and the Trojans made sure they would be a participant this year with a 14 point 4th quarter. Pearson was 13-22 for 251 yds while Fowler caught 5 passes for 144 yds to go with the three scores.

Dylan Young & Blake Carruth each returned fumbles for TD's in that 1st quarter & QB Dean Brown took care of the rest. Brown was 6-13 for 125 yds and 4 TD's & added 94 yds rushing including an 84 yd TD. Chandler Loy had 81 yds rushing and caught 3 passes for 68 yds and 2 TD's. 7 different players scored for the Gryphons.

CBHS 42 St. Benedict 0

Start with Ramadi Warren, add in a dominating defense & it's easy to see why the Brothers locked up 2nd place & a first round bye in the playoffs. Warren had only 13 carries on the night but finished with 184 yds and TD's of 1,13 and 90 yds. Greg Sanders had a 97 yd kickoff return for a TD.
