Observations from opening round of Tennessee playoffs

1) Home field advantage is SOOOOOO important. Teams with HFA were 86-22.

2) 5 #1 seeds were eliminated including 1 in 1A that was 10-0. There were 2 in 3A & 2 in 5A as well

3) 48 teams with losing records made it into this year's postseason. Their record in the first round was 7-42 (one game both teams had losing records). There were 10 shutouts in these games and 33 times one of the teams was held to a touchdown or less. The average score of these games was 41-8.

4) There weren't a lot of close games. Out of the 108 games, only 15 were decided by 7 pts or less.

Here is a chart with a number of different things to check out. There were 16 games (32 teams) in 1A-6A & D2AA. There were only 4 games (8 teams) in D2A.
