Individual stats for area teams as of October 2
Here are some stats for the area schools in a number of different
categories. If you don't see your school represented, there are one of
two reasons why: 1) They didn't meet the cutoff point for a specific
category or 2) We don't have any information from your school. Some
schools we only have a couple of games for. Contact the person that does
stats for your school and have them e-mail them to us at
shelbymetrosports@gmail.com. You can also have them call the show on
Friday nights between 930-11 pm on Sports 56 and 87.7 FM and give us a
report as well. All we want to do is spotlight the young men who are
playing high school football in the Shelby Metro area and we appreciate
any help that we can get to make that happen.
Here are the categories:
Rushing-Most yards, most carries, highest average per carry, touchdowns
Passing-Most yards, highest completion percentage, touchdowns
Receiving-Most catches, touchdowns, highest average yds per catch
Punt Returns
Kick Returns
Interception Returns

TSSAA early playoff projections
Here is the first set of projections from the TSSAA in their public school divisions. Click on the link and you can scroll through the different classifications, playoff standings, tiebreakers, etc..
http://tssaa.org/divisiononefootballplayoffs/
All they are showing is the top 32 teams in 3A-6A and top 24 in 1A-2A that would make the playoffs. What they have not taken into consideration just yet is if there are any teams not in the top 24 or 32 that are first or second in their district. Those team automatically qualify for the playoffs regardless of the number of overall wins that they have. Overall wins is the first tiebreaker in the TSSAA standings.
Here are our current projections for the playoffs if the season ended today. We will continue to update these on a week to week basis. Obviously, there will be a lot of change over the next 5 weeks. Currently, Ridgeway, Germantown and Mitchell would not make the cut. Once the teams are placed in their respective quads, they are seeded like this: All first place teams in the quad, all second place teams and then any wild card teams. If there are 3 first place teams in the quad, they are seeded according to their place in the TSSAA tiebreaker standings. Same for any second place or wild card teams.
We will not project the entire statewide bracket, Just the quads involving the area teams.
